Reserves, Renewals, and Returns

Reserves

You may place holds on all materials except Reference titles and Local History titles owned by the Woodbridge Library. Holds may also be placed on items in other LION libraries.

Renewals

You may extend the due date on all library items either online by logging into your account, in person or by calling the library, as long as no other library user has placed a reserve on them.

Automatic Renewals

Eligible items will renew for the original loan period. For example, books renew for an additional 21 days and DVDs renew for an additional 7 days. Eligible items will be automatically renewed up to two times.

You will receive an e-mail letting you know if your item is automatically renewed or if it is ineligible for auto-renewal.

Items that are not eligible for renewal are items on hold for another patron, Best Sellers, Express DVDs, and Museum Passes.

Please note that not all LION libraries have automatic renewals. An item borrowed from another LION library may not be renewed automatically. Please check your e-mails carefully, so you know when your book is due.

Returning

You may return books and magazines either to the circulation desk or to the exterior book drop which is open 24 hours each day.

Late Charges

The Woodbridge Town Library has gone fine free, which means patrons will no longer be charged fines for overdue items.

Replacement Costs

Patrons must pay full replacement cost for items lost or damaged. Once lost or damaged items are paid for, they automatically become the property of the person who paid for the items. If you have more than $25.00 in charges on your library record, you will not be able to borrow items until the fines are brought under $25.00.

Returned Checks

A fee of $30.00 is attached to a patron record for a returned check.

Returning Books to Other Libraries

You may return books to the Woodbridge Library that were borrowed from other public libraries in Connecticut. We will return the books via the DeliverIT system. Also, you may return books borrowed from the Woodbridge Library by dropping them off at any Connecticut public library. Please note that the user is responsible for library materials until they are received by the lending library.
