Join Rachel Ranis and Hedda Kopf for a discussion on Citizen by Claudia Rankine at the Jewish Community Center of Greater New Haven (JCCNH) on Tuesday, MAy 15 @ 7pm. This program is part of the Arts and Ideas Festival Big Read and is a collaboration between the JCC and Woodbridge Town Library. Rachel Ranis has sociology degrees from Brandeis and Yale universities. Her research specializing in social welfare issues have taken her to Pakistan, Mexico, Colombia, Germany and the United Kingdom. She has taught at the University of Bridgeport, the University of Maryland, Howard University, and is Professor Emerita at Quinnipiac University. Hedda Kopf is a retired Quinnipiac University women’s studies and English professor. She is a team leader and reading partner with the Jewish Coalition for Literacy Connecticut and has created and facilitated book discussions for the Connecticut Humanities Council, the Southern Connecticut Library Council, and at many area libraries.
