In Masters of the Italian Renaissance, ArtScapades explores the styles five great Italian artists, Botticelli, da Vinci, Michelangelo, Titian, and Raphael, including background information on each artist's life and work, and laid the foundation for the development of western art.
The lecture explores each artist's characteristics of style to help you visit any museum, anywhere, and recognize the artist's work, and the relationship of the artistic movements to historical and intellectual currents of the time.
Robin Hoffman and Jodi Stiffelman, of ArtScapades, began teaching art appreciation in 1998 in the New Canaan public school system. By popular demand, they began sharing their knowledge with adults who wanted to learn the basics of art to make museum trips more enjoyable.
