Park & Pickup Changes

On Monday, September 13, Park & Pickup became request-only and automatic email holds notices have returned.

Do not reply to the automated email notification as it comes from an account that is not checked.

You will get automated emails when your holds are ready, and then you will have approximately one week to pick them up inside the library. (If you normally receive phone calls from the library about your holds that are ready for pick up, you will still get the call from us.)

All items that are ready for you to pick up will be put on the self-service holds shelf next to the Circulation Desk, as they were prior to June 2020. Please come inside, pick up your items, then go to the Circulation Desk to check them out. We also have a self-checkout machine for your convenience.

If your email address has changed, or if you’d like to get emails instead of phone calls (or vice versa), please let us know.

Every time you get a notification email and you would like to continue to use our Park & Pickup service to obtain your items, you will have to specifically request this by calling the Circulation Desk at 203-389-3433.  After letting us know that you would like to get your items via Park & Pickup, they will be checked out to you and brought to the Meeting Room within 15 minutes.

Thank you for all of your support and feedback over the last year and a half, regarding Park & Pickup and other library matters. We are happy to be slowly returning to our usual library services and we look forward to seeing you back inside the building!

The Joe Carter – Jeff Fuller Brazilian Jazz Duo

Thursday, September 2 at 6 pm – The Joe Carter-Jeff Fuller Brazilian Jazz Duo

The Joe Carter Brazilian Jazz Duo celebrates the music of Brazil! Their repertoire features songs by Brazil’s classic composers, but they take things a step further by using their Jazz backgrounds to add Jazz improvisation into the tunes. Having performed internationally, Joe Carter has used these experiences to form a sound and style based in “Samba Jazz” – a style that combines the improvisational nature of North American Jazz with the lyrical and rhythmical aspects of Brazilian Bossa Nova, Samba, Choro, Baiao and MPB.

Last Woodbridge Unplugged Concert stars Flynn Carney

The Woodbridge Town Library and Town of Woodbridge are organizing outdoor acoustic concerts this spring and summer. The Woodbridge Unplugged concerts will be a fun, free and safe way for residents to come together, enjoy each other’s company and listen to local talent.

The final concert on June 24 features our youngest performer, Flynn Carney. Flynn Carney has been singing since before she could talk! Her parents, Brigid and Tim Carney, reflected that Flynn’s first instrument was her voice but soon after, a set of drums courtesy of her grandparents and drum lessons with her teacher, Gary Fiandra, when she was 5 years old. Flynn attends Hamden Hall’s Country Day School and was “Puck” in their fall “musical” of “Shakespeare’s Midsummer’s Night’s Dream” where her songwriting talents were lent to her director and Drama teacher, Karl Gasteyer. During the pandemic she picked up guitar. She is delighted to be performing in her “new” hometown of Woodbridge.

Bring lawn chairs, blankets, and snacks! Concerts will take place from 6 pm to 7 pm and be located on the north side of the library facing Newton Rd. Masks are recommended and we ask that everyone follow social distancing guidelines. No registration necessary.
