Just in time for Veteran's Day, join Dr. Mark Schenker as he discusses All Quiet on the Western Front with us!
In this centenary year of the start of the First World War, much attention has appropriately been given to the history and the literature of "the war to end all wars." Join Mark Schenker, Senior Associate Dean of Yale College, for a discussion of one of the great novels that emerged from WWI, All Quiet on the Western Front (1929) by Erich Maria Remarque. One of several works of fiction about the war to appear in the "war book boom" of the late 1920's—Hemingway's A Farewell to Arms was published in the same year—All Quiet has lost none of its power or immediacy as one of the greatest anti-war war novels of all time.
